A few of the hottest rockers on the New York hardcore scene — guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse, bassist Alec Atkins and drummer Jarad Dawkins — aren’t even out of center school.

Their love of steel tunes came from seeing Japanese anime and wrestling. They really don't treatment much for what their friends are listening to.


"Hip hop is only about drugs, women and cash," said Dawkins, 11, of Bedford-Stuyvesant. "I don't like that concept. We are on our possess imaginative route."
